Many of us do not look behind the curtains and investigate matters that do not concern us, but perhaps we should when it comes to certain aspects that are involved in our every day lives such as music and media. We as humans hear and see tens of thousands of advertisements a day. Advertising is in everything we do, and in advertising resides subliminal messages. Subliminal messages can greatly influence one’s decisions about a variety of subjects. Let me get to my point – While there are many conspiracy theories related to hip-hop, widespread homosexuality seems to be one of the biggest and most controversial promoted trends in recent times. Is an agenda to promote homosexuality being put forth and embedded into our subconscious minds?
I have been a listener of rap, hip-hop, pop, main stream or whatever you wish to call it since I was a young child; maybe 7 years old. The first song I memorized by heart was “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio, that was my demographic group at the time. However, what I didn’t notice about this new form of music (to me) was the blatant symbolism about sex. Lately I have started observing and researching into this issue. I notice that most of the symbolism in today’s hip-hop might be about low class females (hoes, whores, bitches, etc.) dancing and putting out for money and of course drugs and violence. I have come to a conclusion that many of the major artists that degrade women do so because they have little respect for them and are not interested in being with them in a sexual manner. However, I have also noticed another, even weirder trend emerging in today’s not so hip-hop and more pop culture ‘rap’ music.
After investigating and observing over the years, I have noticed that homosexuality is being promoted and subliminally embedded into the minds of our youth via main stream music and other forms of media. Take a look around you; listen to the words in a song instead of just the beat. A lot of main stream songs have sexual and perhaps even homosexual references in them.
Don’t take my word for it, as I am no expert and I am just stating what I have observed for an interesting topic. Before you call me a bigot with an agenda against homosexuals, do your own research and you will find that a lot of the big timers in the music business (and the world) are gay or pedophiles. I myself have a gay family member, and love them just as much as I would any family member, for it is their choice. Do not take me the wrong way, for I am just sparking interest and don’t mean to offend anyone. I am curious to know other people’s opinions on this topic. I have compiuled a short playlist on YouTube of some videos I found about homosexuality in hip-hop. Please watch below and let me know your opinion. I couldn’t fit every example I found into this video, but I always say do your own research and you will be able to come to your own conclusion.
