1x1.trans Album Review: Kosha Dillz Beverly Dillz“I’m a Jew and I love it. I’m a Jew and I love it. I make money off Christmas presents and I think nothing of it.” That pretty much sums up the package Jersey bred and Israeli backed artist Kosha Dillz brings to the table. His light hearted, yet hard hitting release “Beverly Dillz” fused a solid mix of fluid hip hop, hand clapping club beats and pop twang. Can we say “twang” when describing a Jersey boy? Either way, it is what it is.

The choppy electronic-fed beats force you to bob your head and smile at the Dr. Suess rhymes. “Nick-nack patty-whack and Kosha Dillz’s a bone. Tell your girl to go pay the bill of my cellular phone.” To borrow another line, this review practically writes itself. It’s not all fun and games of course. He’s not a joke, but light hearted and in love with the music. The CD, however, lacks the zest and zing of his live performance. Having toured with Matisyahu and screamed freestyles coast-to-coast Kosha has taken his on stage persona to a level recording can’t quite capture.
